Ok, as promised, here’s a new song.
A very new song.
A maybe not even finished yet song.
You don't show fools a job half done!
But you’re no fools… You are my kind, discerning subscribers!
And one day you can say:
Hey! I heard a really early version of this song! Before she added horns and strings and changed the ending!
Working title: The Goodbye Song
Subject: Goodbye (to simpler times?)
Anxiously awaiting your feedback.
Goodbye Goodbye Goodbye Goodbye.
The Goodbye Song - Listen Now:
(Pressed post by accident! Arthritic fingers!)
... from the viewpoint of the song's narrator, but is it that of the author?
The Goodbye's seem wistful and sad, rather than a moving-on to new things. We're left wondering 'why the goodbyes?'... the only clue seemed to be the line 'Goodbye to glue that stuck me to you'. But it didn't have the tragedy of a breakup song.
Perhaps it's too easy to look for meanings, but that's the problem with any song that hints at sadness.
Good luck...
A sad song - not a bad song, far from it - but one that leaves a sense of a punch in the gut, despite gentleness of tone - like, was it personal?
